Do we judge quickly?

Often times we judge the situation quickly without actually knowing the facts. Is that ok?

Absolutely not a good idea. But we are not like machines coded to perform or react in a certain way to a situation. We live with emotions and that's what drives our attention differently to the various situations around us.

This is with respect to the recent incident of the elephant's death in Kerala. Somehow false information circulated claiming that the elephant was intentionally fed with a pineapple stuffed with fireworks by localities but the actual facts were no one fed it intentionally. They were in general used as prey to wild boars to protect farms in Kerala and somehow this innocent elephant landed up there.

(Is it ok to use as prey for wild boars is a different question.)

Fortunately, no person's name was involved in this incident so far and the so called real facts too got viral soon the people started realizing it.

So far soo good but let's think it the other way.

If a person's name would have involved in the same situation, wouldn't the person along with his/her family be in trouble for the situation which they are not responsible for?

It's not the first time something like this happened, many such fake news gets circulated on a person's name on social media who are not really responsible for and they suffer the most pain by the time real facts come out.

Later at some point, there might be a news like this one saying that someone confessed for the incident but what if this is not true?

It's very easy to share the news but it's not easy for that person to lead the same life again forever. So, let's not judge a situation and react quickly without knowing the actual facts. Though validating the news is a different aspect which one should think of, let's be a little more serious and aware while sharing something where a person's life is at stake.

Let's together try to respond, not react.
