In this world of digital transformation, don't you think most of us define success by the no of followers we have or by the no of likes we get for our posts?
Maybe not everyone does but I once used to do. I used to check my post multiple times to see the no of likes and when it isn't a good no, negative thoughts used to flush my mind about the post/photograph.

It doesn't matter how many appreciate the work, our human mind always haunts and thinks about that one negative comment. Ever have you been in a situation where you kept thinking about that one negative comment despite appreciated by many? Share it in the comments.
Thankfully, I realized soon that one cannot inspire everyone with their work and when it comes to photography or any form of artwork for that matter, trust me, not everyone has the same taste and so, one cannot impress everyone with their posts.
So, I started realizing how much I like the work is more important than how many like it. Your personal satisfaction is more important than others unless they are your clients. Maybe one can say Quality is more important than quantity in this case.
Unfortunately, It's not just with a person, most often times, we as a team do follow it while deciding a winner by the no of likes one gets for their work and I don't have any idea how this can be replaced. Do you remember asking your friends to like a post so that you or your friend wins the competition? This is what I was trying to refer to.
Sometimes, others opinion is important which is how you think and improve but defining the success of your work just by one comment / no of likes is never a good idea.
This concept of other's opinion doesn't just stop here with the posts, we often consider it as the most promising tool to buy the best product. You have mistaken me if you are thinking about any gadget where user experience and other's opinion matters. I here am considering the case where we ask multiple people before we buy the apparel we already decided on. Maybe we are looking for justification for our taste which doesn't have to match with others.
I still remember a moment where I liked a product which all my family members didn't but I went with my choice. I still use that product with the utmost satisfaction even after years. May be It wouldn't have been the same case if I would have gone with their choice.
So, next time you worry about likes, followers and other opinions just revaluate your thought process and things will be in place.
I urge you to please share this with your friends. Trust me, I am not asking this for the views. I just want this to reach the right people who are in the race for no of likes and followers.
(Disclaimer: These are just my thoughts and is not an intention to hurt anyone)
Minimalism Hack: If you are too much attached to your phone using social media and if you want to reduce the usage time, turn off all the notifications other than texts and calls. If there is something really important, one will call you. It worked for me and I guess it works for anyone.
